Elissa R. Brewster, JD, MHA
Managing Attorney
For the past 20 years, Elissa R. Brewster’s practice has primarily focused on advising senior executives in the healthcare industry on risks and compliance with federal and state laws, while simultaneously managing the day-to-day legal operations of their organizations. She has collaborated with various companies and individuals to enhance technology, revenue, and operations for healthcare organizations—dedicating her time to reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts and agreements.
As a highly accomplished attorney, Elissa R. Brewster’s experience includes providing counsel to a variety of organizations based in the Houston area. Most recently, she supported Acclara Solutions/Tegria RCM as their Corporate Attorney, Christus Health TLRA as Legal Counsel and Privacy Officer, and Downhole Technology as a Contracts Manager.
She received her Juris Doctor from the New England School of Law in 2001, her Master of Healthcare Administration from the University of Houston-Clear Lake in 2011, and a Graduate Certificate in Health and Hospital Law from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2016.
Elissa recently served as a panelist at the Texas Health Care Transactions Conference in October 2022 and was a finalist for Houston Business Journal’s “Outstanding Solo General Counsel” in 2012, where she was honored for her innovation and ability to collaborate across many lines of business.
Onnaedo Nwankwo, RN, JD

Meet Onnaedo, a licensed attorney with a passion for healthcare law. As a nurse for over a decade, she has combined her unique clinical experience with professional roles in government, nonprofit, and midsized firms to address various healthcare legal issues.
She earned her Juris Doctor from Seattle University School of Law in 2022 and holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Texas Health Science Center-Houston and a Bachelor in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin. Onnaedo’s dedication to healthcare law has also led her to pursue an LL.M. at the University of Houston. Through these academic and practical experiences, she has developed a refined set of educational and professional skills valuable to the Brewster Law firm.

She provides comprehensive support to our attorneys through legal research, document drafting, client communication, and case management. Fluent in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, Eloisa brings a multicultural perspective, strong organizational skills, and a proactive approach to every case she handles.

Meet Stanley, the not-so-legal mastermind of our team! Despite having more enthusiasm than legal wisdom, Stanley’s presence adds a certain, let’s say, unique charm to the office. His knack for mistaking important documents for chew toys and his uncanny ability to find the comfiest spot in the most inconvenient places have earned him the honorary title of “Chief Napper.” While his legal advice might be a bit “ruff” around the edges, his talent for turning mundane meetings into impromptu game sessions is unparalleled. Stanley’s endearing lack of legal expertise serves as a reminder to never take ourselves too seriously, and that a little bit of “pawsitivity” can go a long way!
